- 1: What did you do in 2012 that you’d never done before?
- Went to San Francisco. Drove a moving truck with a car in tow from Tampa to DC, taught a Full-fledged graphic novel course for one of the best colleges in the country!
- 2: Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
- I didn’t make any last year, and probably won’t this year. I already have enough goals.
- 3: Did anyone close to you give birth?
- My brother and sister-in-law had another little girl

- None
- 6: What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012:
- More published work and more energy…and to find a way to deal with stress that doesn’t involve large pizzas.
- 7: What dates from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
- July 20th, when the theater in Aurora was attacked. Movie theaters are the closest thing to a church to me (probably even closer). When I read the news the next morning that while I was enjoying The Dark Knight Rises, people were losing their lives, it hit me in as close to a spiritual way as I am capable of.
- 8: What was your biggest achievement of the year?
- 4 publications altogether, by Rusty Nail, the Lit Garden, and monkeybycicle.
- 9: What was your biggest failure?
- Not pushing myself harder until the last part of the year.
- 10: Did you suffer illness or injury?
- No. I remain the healthiest fat guy in America.
- 11: What was the best thing you bought?
- Saga (comic book). A desktop computer. A portrait of myself as Beast from the incredibly talented Joi Washington, which I gave to my mom for Christmas.

- Hmmm…I had some wonderful students, we’ll leave it at that

- 14: Where did most of your money go?
- Rent, food, comics, movies, and mostly–STUDENT LOANS
- 15: What did you get really, really, really excited about?
- Finding a burst of inspiration for a novel that has been plaguing me for years, coming up with enough story to spin it into 3 books, and getting positive feedback from everyone who has read samples so far.

- Slightly fatter despite going to the gym a lot. I had some stressful months that got the best of me.

- Writing–and getting my getting my writing into the world.

- Letting stress get to me.

- Watched Les Miserables with my family.

- Only for a moment and then the moment past. And then I discovered Pig Daddy’s BBQ

- Breaking Bad, Go On, and Once Upon a Time

- No, but those I did hate before I hate even moreso now.
- 24: What was the best book you read?
- I hate you for asking this. Way too many to choose from. Great comics this year, like Thor: God of Thunder and Animal Man. Great books like Roma and Fun and Games. Too many things to choose from
- 25: What was your greatest musical discovery?
- Danger Mouse’s Rome
- 26: What did you want and get?
- I wanted to be a more determined writer. Now I most definitely am.
- 27: What did you want and not get?
- Love. But then I realized that I wanted to focus on other things right now.
- 28: What was your favorite film of this year?
- Fuck you for asking. So many….too many to list. Cloud Atlas, Skyfall, Argo, Avengers, Dark Knight Rises, Les Miserables, and more.
- 29: What one thing made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
- Ha….how to explain this without giving too much detail. I pulled a Mark Ruffalo from The Kids Are All Right, minus the sperm donation part. We’ll leave it at that.

- Is this clean?

- Scarlett Johansson. The answer is almost always Scarlett Johansson.

- Fiscal Cliff, Marriage Equality, our government of ten-year-old bullies.
